Step #6: Verify ownership of your business

Follow these easy steps to set up your
business
profile. Create a google account for your business
add your business name, address, service area (for service businesses)
select your business category (whether you are a retail shop or restaurant or hotel)
add your contact information
verify account and get started
once your business profile has been verified, it will appear on google search and google map results.
Find the “add business” menu from your dashboard and follow the process to add them. google requires you to verify each of them to approve and make them active. Just follow the above steps to verify them. If you have ten or more business locations, you will do a bulk upload to add them to your google my business account: click “add business tab” you’ll need to request bulk verification for them.
The next step is to verify your business. This is important for the google algorithm to recognize your business and show it publicly in local search results. You have a few options: verify by mail. Google sends a postcard with a code to your address. You input the code to verify. Verify by phone. If your business is eligible for phone verification, you can opt to receive a phone call and enter a verification code. Verify by email. Google sends you an email with a verification code to enter.
When you arrive on this page, it means you are ready to verify your new business profile. If you still do not own one, you can create your google my business listing for free right now. The account creation process is simple and aimed at any business, not just a local one. Make sure you type the correct business address in the form or use the pin marker to find it on the google maps provided in the onboarding process. Claim request method #1:
Before you can verify your profile, you must request to claim it. If you do not verify your business, you will not be able to make any updates to your profile. The most common way to verify your business is through a postcard. With this method, google will send a postcard to the address associated with the profile.
To make sure the postcard is delivered to the right location, you must make sure the following information is correct:
a complete and exact address with suite numbers, floors, building numbers, and other key unit information
only information that is part of the official address in the listing.

This list below is the bare minimum. The more you fill out, the better off you will be. But at the very least, make sure to include the items listed below. Business name — technically your business name should match your website to adhere to google's guidelines address — make sure your address on your website is formatted the same way google formats it phone number — make sure the phone number on your website is formatted the same way google formats it website address — use your website’s homepage or location page for websites that have multiple locations services — choose relevant services from the options google gives you.
